If you are coming to Put-in-Bay Ohio on your own private boat, or even bringing a fishing boat on a trailer, there are several docking selections to choose from: there are Mooring Buoys out in the Bay, Public and Private Docks all over downtown, and there are two Public Boat Ramps available on each end of the island.

Located right down the street from the Put in Bay ferry drop off area, the Put-in-Bay Yacht Club is committed to promoting all types of boating and aquatic activities on Lake Erie. A private social organization, the Yacht Club boasts a significant amount of dockage and wonderful facilities. The atmosphere is friendly and very social. It is located near the Miller Marina. Getting in the Water

One ramp is located in downtown Put-in-Bay next to the Jet Express Dock. The other is located in the South Bass Island State Park out past Joe’s Bar. The State Park ramp is wider and has a gentler slope than the downtown ramp. As a bonus, there is also more trailer parking available. Also, if you are planning to trail a boat to Put-in-Bay, you will need to take the Miller Ferry to the island since they are the only ferry to transport vehicles.

Can you take your own boat to Put-in-Bay?

Absolutely! Many visitors bring their boats to the island. There are many docking options! Put-in-Bay is a very popular getaway for boaters. Make sure to reserve a space in advance during peak season!

Can I make a reservation at boat docks or marinas?

Public-owned docks do not take reservations on the island. If you are looking to make a reservation, private boat clubs and marinas can take reservations from non-members. The Boardwalk and Park Place Boat club are two private establishments that offer reservations.
