T&J's Smokehouse

T&J’s Smokehouse

Country Music has arrived to bars in Put in Bay, Ohio! That’s thanks to T&J’s Smokehouse, which is the first and only country-western bar on South Bass Island. They’re the original and best. With such a short distance from one of the  Put-in-Bay ferry terminals, you can head right over and enjoy the rodeo right away! They’ll serve you up one of the freshest juiciest burger and an ice-cold shot of whiskey. Feel the peanut shells cracking underneath your feet, and get ready to take the ride of your life on Brisket, the only mechanical bull at Put-in-Bay! And if you come at the right time, you’ll even get to see dueling pianos. Live entertainment is a specialty at T&J’s Smokehouse.

T&J’s Menu

As far as Put in Bay restaurants go, T&J’s has a loaded menu, so you can be sure your entire group will find something they’ll love. Start off with the firecracker shrimp or the fried green tomatoes, quickly becoming an island favorite. The Thai Five Spice Ahi Tuna is another really unique appetizer that people love. Another crowd favorite is the bacon-wrapped meatballs. Get an order of chicken wings, either bone-in or boneless and try out one or two of T&J’s 8 sauces. They have standards like hot buffalo and BBQ, but we recommend the Cowboy Sauce and the Caribbean Jerk.

When it’s time for the main course, you’ll see there are some amazing sides to choose from to go with your meal. The asparagus and the garlic fries stand out. Make sure to pair them with a burger, though, because that’s T&J’s calling card. Try the Wrangler, which comes topped with pulled pork, cheese, and BBQ sauce. Whatever burger you choose though, you’ll get a delectable USDA Angus beef patty and an awesome meal. Other popular Entrees include Lake Erie Perch baskets and BBQ brisket.

Testimonials

Kristine C: “Was the first person there yesterday and the service was amazing. The pulled pork sandwich and fries were some of the best I have ever had. The service was great!! I will definitely be back.”

Steve W: “This was one of the stops for my bachelor party. The food was good, the energy was immense, and the bull is worth it all. I am sure that somewhere there is a picture or video of me riding it that night with a Borat style full-body man thong, and getting thrown off the bull for the world to see. Certainly enough phones out and recording. Moral of the story, if you’re going to TJ’s come ready to have fun and let loose.”

Tracy M: “It was an amazing experience. The waitresses were extremely friendly, courteous, and on time. The food was huge portions. It was awesome! Great food!”

Candice B: “Outlaw burger was amazing! My boyfriend was hesitant at first but very satisfied with the quality of service and taste of food. We will be back! So many appetizers and entrees to choose from. ”

Jackie S: “By far the best place to relax and enjoy not only amazing food but great entertainment. Whether you enjoy the outdoor seating and enjoy the dueling pianos and watching people attempt to ride the bull or head inside for some awesome modern country music…there is definitely something for everyone. I recommend this place to all of my friends! Can’t wait for summer!”
