Downtown Dave: 9/25-10/17 Live Music Report

Downtown Dave: 9/25-10/17 Live Music Report
So as the season comes to a close soon so must the Downtown Dave posts. I will do one more to close out the year in a few weeks. I am going to list the next 3 weeks of music this week before the year end post to wrap up the 2026 season.

So this week’s thoughts are about making plans and setting goals. So this week has been busy and I have almost a sold out house all week and weekend. Most of the guests are staying for 5 days this week. That gave me time to start planning my winter trips.

More after the music!

Put-in-Bay Live Music Schedule 9/25-10/17

As you can see from this week’s music schedule a lot of the venues do not have daily music scheduled. But that should not stop you from coming to Put in Bay. The weather is still fantastic and there is still lots to do on the island. Sometimes just taking a walk through the many parks on the island will do a lot for somebody’s mental health. Or even finding a place to watch the sunset with somebody special can make a day special.

2026 putinbayohio.com’s Best Places To Stay!

My Thoughts For The Week

So my winter travels are just about done but I have room for some changes if needed. I had to work around my city council meetings and a few cruises already planned. But after that was done I decided I need to start planning more than this winter. Keep that thought till the end when I talk long term First lets discuss short term goals. So being in sales most of my life I was taught to plan out sales goals. It is not just planning sales goals but what will I have to do to hit those goals. Just putting a sales number out there without a plan to reach that goal is a waste of time. I always was one to set a realistic goal that I could achieve because I never wanted to fail. But many times when I would exceed the goal I would set I would always try to do more. But of course everytime I did well I would set the bar a little higher.

I never wanted to settle for just being average. Every person that competes in sports, professional or amatuer always wants to do better. They have a plan. So if you are a baseball player hitting 270 every year and you know if you hit 300 you will get paid a lot more. The difference between hitting 270 and 300 is only 18 more hits over a season if you have 600 at bats. The pay raise that you will get is huge if you bat 300. Just think how you can get those 18 extra hits. You can bunt for a hit, you can stop pulling the ball and hit to the opposite side for an example. I am going to use Steven Kwan as that example. For the first half of the year he was hitting barely 200 and he made some changes to his stance and swing and since those changes he is hitting over 340 since then. He went from almost dead last in batting average in the American league to 9th in batting the American league. Because of that he will get a huge contract in the off season.

So that is a lesson. In life if you have goals and dreams figure out what you have to do to achieve those goals. This does not just apply to sales. It applies to everyday life. No goal is out of reach if you really want it.

Now my short term goals lesson is over now we are looking long term. After my winter plans were planned I decided to look longer term. Starting this week I am going to make plans for the next 5,10 and 15 years. Where do I want to be, what do I want to see, where do I want to live and what do I have to do to achieve those goals and dreams. I guess you can call it a bucket list. Throughout my life I have always set short term goals. I do not think that I have ever looked that far in the future. Now will the plans for 15 years away maybe change. Of course they will but I need to have an outline of the time in the future. I have all off season to make the plans. Maybe when Downtown Dave comes back and gets ready for the 2027 season I will share some of those plans with all of you.

But now it is time for you to plan another trip to Put in Bay this year. Still lots of great music and fun events to see in the 2026 season. Hopefully I will see you before the 2026 season is over!
