For over 10 years in a row, pirates be invadin’ Put-in-Bay’s downtown harbor on Friday at 4:00 PM to open the Put-in-Bay Pyrate Fest. Grab your wooden leg and your pet parrot, because you’re going to need them. Saturday will be an exciting day for kids and adults full of fun activities. Make sure you don’t miss the Pirate Parade downtown and the Best Costume Contest this side of Lake Erie. Adults and children are both encouraged to participate in this hot Put-in-Bay Ohio summer weekend. Additionally, the best adult pirate costume wins a trip to the Cayman Islands! Sounds like a challenge to us!

FRIDAY
4:30pm – Put-in-Bay Flag Raising Ceremony & Opening Cannons! Pyrate Stage in Downtown DeRivera Park & Harbor. Join the Crew as we officially open Pyrate Fest with a Booming Celebration Downtown.
5:00pm – Pyrate Pub Crawl. Start at Red Moon (21 and over only).
SATURDAY
10am to 5pm – Pyrate Encampment & Marketplace open. East end of Downtown DeRivera Park.
10am to 1pm – Costume Contest Registration for both the adult and kids costume contests. Pyrate Market Place Information Table.
10:30am – Enlisted 1812 Soldiers Black Powder Demonstration. Cannon Firing Area.
11am to 2pm – Captain Jack Sparrow and His Krew host kid’s activities. Stage and Surrounding Park Area.
11am to 4pm – Meet a real mermaid! Mermaid Tami will be available for photos. Pyrate Encampment.
11am to 5pm – Faire Wynds Circus. Pyrate Encampment.

8am to 9am – Stein Hospice Pyrate 5K Fun Run Check-In. Racers are to check in with race officials at the start line.

As soon as you get off of the Put in Bay ferry, you can head right to DeRivera Park where most of the events are held. Each day of the event there will be plenty of Put in Bay attractions, performances, activities, and fun to be had. Tuesday evening officially concluded the event with the infamous Cardboard Boat Races at 6:00 PM in the downtown harbor. You’ll be sure to have a good time participating in pirate-themed events throughout the festival. Watch as scurvy bearded pirates demonstrate sword fighting techniques, as well as the art of skulduggery. Kids will have the chance to practice with foam swords also!

After a few days of plundering, you’re sure to build up quite the appetite but we have you covered. Explore tasty grub from any of the Put-in-Bay Ohio eateries and you’ll be fit as a fiddle and ready to return to your voyage. Head over to The Boathouse for delicious seafood options and more. Maybe you need to take a break in one of Put-in-Bay’s favorite pubs? Grab your mate and head over to Hooligans. This awesome Irish Pub offers a great atmosphere with an outdoor seating area and greater beer.
