Gatewood Video on YouTube!

You might remember reading about Bob Gatewood making a music video on the island one Saturday back in September. Anyone on the island who wanted to be part of it could come out and be in it. Well, the video was completed this past month and posted on YouTube. You can check it out by searching “Island in the Sun” from the Bob’s latest album, “Friends-of-the-Bay.” The video was directed by Moe Taylor for @braindaggerfilms with executive producer, Jeremy Berman. It features a lot of Put-in-Bay island goers having fun. The music was produced by Tom Bukovac for @501chorusecho with executive producers Brad Ohlemacher and Steve Fishman. It was recorded, mixed and mastered by Rick Delima for Headroom Studio in Nashville.

Island Air Taxi Update

Dustin Shaffer from Island Air Taxi tells us he’s hired a full-time pilot so both of his planes can be flown everyday. The price for a flight to or from the island is $46.08 plus tax. This comes to an even $50 and can be paid with cash, credit card, billing or Venmo. Also new this season is that Island Air Taxi will be handling all UPS packages to South Bass, Middle Bass, North Bass and Kelleys Islands. Please text or call Chontel at (419) 573-2960 to schedule a flight or to inquire about package delivery.

Thank You

The Heineman family can not express to its island friends and island businesses enough gratitude for all your generosity and support for the Gustav P. Heineman Memorial Scholarship Fundraiser Dinner. We had great success in bringing back the scholarship dinner because of all of you. Thank you for all the monetary donations and all the basket item donations. It was incredibly generous of all of you. God Bless and Love, The Heineman Family.

On The Road

Island folk were traveling this past month. Put-in-Bay Gazette Editor Kendra Koeher, Caroline Conrad from Tipper’s and Sue Thwaite from the Picnic Basket were in Paris, France before heading to Italy where they boarded a repositioning cruise that stopped in ports in Italy, France, Spain, Portugal and the Azores before crossing the Atlantic to Florida. John and Patricia Fisher were in Fort Myers Beach. Michele Heineman and her daughter Ava headed to New Mexico for a little fun on the slopes. We hear Ava likes to snowboard. Simona Michael, her son Emil and daughter Emma were on a cruise that hit the Bahamas, Grand Turk, the Dominican Republic, Bonaire and Curaçao over the holiday break. Macy Ladd (PIB Class of 2023) headed to Thailand. Erin Urge, Tyler King, Sophia Pressler, Brenna Sherman and Carter Pugh from the Crew’s Nest were in France, Belgium and the Netherlands. Joe Hart and his wife Maddy from the Middle Bass General Store spent time in Jamaica.
