An Awesome Put-in-Bay Tradition Continues!
McCann Field was rocking on Saturday, August 9th, as hundreds of volleyball lovers flocked to the Bay to take part in the 2025 edition of the Battle of Put-in-Bay! This event, hosted by Lakeview Beach Volleyball, has been one of the great summer events at the island these past couple of decades, and this year was no exception!

Room For Any Teams Of Any Skill Level
It was genuinely astonishing to see how many people participated in this event. I mean just look at these videos and photos. Dozens of teams formed multiple divisions to compete for glory at the Bay! The Battle of Put-in-Bay features multiple divisions for multiple skill levels, from a beginner’s fun division all the way to an intensely competitive A division.
More Than Just A Competition
Of course, this event isn’t all about competition, it’s about a fantastic summer weekend at the Bay. And we’ve no doubt that a couple of teams dreams were dashed by a little too much enthusiasm at the pre-check in party at the Sand Bar the night before! But we also know everyone was a winner on Saturday night, as everyone got to enjoy another night on the town with fellow volleyball lovers on Delaware Avenue!

This is one Put-in-Bay tradition that we know isn’t going anywhere, so while there aren’t any official details for the 2026 Battle of Put-in-Bay available just yet, we know that it’ll be happening, and probably in late August. So keep an eye on Put-in-Bay spaces like our page, the Island Guide Facebook page, and the official web home of the Battle of Put-in-Bay, the Lakeview Beach Volleyball website. Get together a few friends and come on up, because there’s no better excuse for a summer weekend at PIB!
