Lake Erie named Coolest Lake in Ohio

Did you know we made the cut? UPROXX recently published their list The Coolest Lake in Every State In America For Summer 2019. The best part? Every state has its own Cool Lake. You don’t even have to leave Ohio! We’ve got you covered.

They acknowledge that you don’t necessarily need a pool or an ocean in the hot summer months to cool you off! Noting that “going to the lake is the ultimate (and accessible) fun in the sun activity.” We could not agree more! Everyone has awesome memories they have made at the lake.

While Ohio has an abundance of lakes, Lake Erie was chosen as the “Coolest Lake” for our state.

But first, some quick information on Lake Erie you may not know. It is the eleventh largest in the world. Looking at the surface area, it is the fourth-largest of the five Great Lakes. In order of largest surface area to smallest surface area: Lake Superior, Lake Huron, Lake Michigan, Lake Erie, and Lake Ontario. Another fun fact is that Lake Erie is the shallowest, southernmost, and has the smallest volume of the Great Lakes. Now you know!

While it spans a relatively large distance, UPROXX covered the part of Lake Erie near Put-in-Bay, Ohio. Hey, that’s us! UPROXX describes Put-in-Bay as “a hugely popular summer resort and recreation destination on South Bass Island.” With Put-In-Bay’s public parks, historic monuments, restaurants, and tourist attractions, there is something for everyone who is looking for a relaxing day!

You’re invited to come to spend a day, or a few, at Ohio’s Coolest Lake. We hope to see you real soon!
