Well, we’re happy to report that the day has arrived! The Ferry Is Running! It’s the highlight of the year, because both symbolically and practically, it means that a new Put-in-Bay season is about to begin.

Now The Work Begins!
While there will likely be a few intrepid travelers on the boats, the passengers on these first few days of ferry rides are going to consist primarily of island staff, coming back after a winter away to get the place ready for the hundreds of thousands of people that will visit between now and October.
The first true crowd of island visitors won’t be far behind them though, as our beloved fishermen will be headed to the Walleye Capital of the World to catch their fill throughout April and May!
This Is A Special Day For Us!
We’re filled with excitement over what the 2026 season will bring at Put-in-Bay, and today’s the day we can start that story! So in a lot of ways this is way more than a news announcement, it’s a celebration of the return of everything that we love on South Bass Island.
All aboard everybody, we’ll SEE YOU AT THE BAY!
