What a Holiday Weekend!
Wow the 4th of July was absolutely packed. So many people having a great time celebrating Americas 250th Birthday I saw a line for cars to get off the island on Sunday that stretched to the airport. That would be over a 3 hour wait to get on the boat for cars. So if you bring a car over when you stay try to get in line before 9 am when the line is shorter.

My Thoughts For The Week
Successful people read a lot. There was a time in my adult life that all I read was Sports Illustrated. Reading those did not grow my individual thoughts. They did not make me more successful. All they did was prop up sports stars. Just like in high school. All of the jocks male and female were looked at like gods. Because they were physically gifted we thought that is who I want to be. Now when you go to your class reunions 20 years later a majority of them did not amount to much in real life. Of course there are exceptions to every example.
So about 20 years ago I started reading biographies. Experience is not the best teacher. The best teacher is reading about other successful people and what made them great. I read many books about my business and went to many training events and learned what made them successful. By taking a little bit from everybody it made me very successful. I still use things that I learned from others and use them to this day in my Bed and Breakfast and that is why we have an 80% return rate and perfect reviews online. You never want to try and be that exact successful person. You just need to take a few things and put it in your daily life. So every winter I have lots of time and I read at least 5 biographies. I learn something from every book that I read.
I have been tempted to write my own book to tell my story. But writing these posts every week works just fine for now. Many people have told me how much they like the posts and that sometimes reading them inspires them or maybe just makes them think about things differently. So I will continue to post them through out our season. Then I will do more posts during the winter but not as often.

A Thought on Money and Happiness
Next thought is a repeat from a post from a few years back but it is more true today and hopefully it will get you to come to Put in Bay this summer. Researchers interviewed 150 random people about there most recent purchases. They found that money spent on activities – such as concerts and group gatherings brought far more pleasure than material purchases like shoes and clothes. The memories that you will have spending time at Put in Bay will last longer then the pair of shoes or that new shirt will. So it is time to make a trip to this little island in Lake Erie.
