There's A Pretty Big Football Game Tonight...
In case you live under a rock, we’ll be the ones to tell you that there’s a huge football game tonight! All of Put-in-Bay and the rest of Ohio will be locked to their TV’s to watch Ohio State take on Texas in the CFP Semifinals at the Cotton Bowl tonight at 7:30PM Eastern on ESPN.
Now just about everyone who follows our pages is a Buckeyes fan, so we wanted to help get you all hyped up for the game tonight, with a little Put-in-Bay flavor! So we’re throwing it back to Labor Day Weekend 2023, when The Best Damn Band In The Land, the Ohio State Marching Band, ROCKED the Bay!
It Was Quite The Day At Put-in-Bay
This visit from The Best Damn Band in the land was a couple of years in the making, and it took a ton of planning and organizing. It was itself a repeat of the first time the Ohio State Band came to Put-in-Bay a decade prior to this one.
That event was so beloved and memorable that people asked over and over when it would happen again, so the Put-in-Bay community got together to make it happen, and this was the result, an EPIC day at the Bay!
Ohio State Has a Permanent Put-in-Bay Presence
Little Gibraltar Island sits nestled inside of the Put-in-Bay Harbor, and that tiny rock is home to the Ohio State University Stone Laboratory, where environmental scientists study Lake Erie. So there are always some Buckeyes at the Bay! But it goes without saying that many of the residents, employees, and local visitors are either alumni or just huge fans of the Buckeyes, so there’s no question who Put-in-Bay is cheering for tonight!
